Ottawa Choral Society

The Ottawa Choral Society would like to hear from you. We are a large symphonic chorus, now in our 68th season. In addition to our own three-concert subscription series, we sing with both the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra.

This season, the Ottawa Choral Society will be going on Tour to Italy (Venice, Florence and Rome) from May 22nd to 31st, 2008.

Our Music Director is Matthew Larkin.
Entrance into the choir is dependent on an audition to determine placement and readiness for the choir.
We rehearse on Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:45, and occasionally on weekends.
Auditions for returning and new members will take place in June and September as listed below.

Membership Fees are $200 per season. Financial assistance may be available.
Student fees are discounted 50%.

Requirements:

Ability to read music.
A basic knowledge of music theory (key signatures, intervals, rhythms, etc.).
A short solo (standard choral repertoire, art or folk song). Please bring a copy of the music.
Scales, sight-reading, aural test.
