About the OCS
The Ottawa Choral Society has a long and storied history within the National Capital region and throughout Canada. The choir has earned its place among the finest philharmonic choirs in the country by presenting its audiences with exciting, provocative and stirring performances of both sacred and secular choral music spanning the centuries and in a variety of musical genres.
Support for emerging and young Canadian artists is provided through innovative programme initiatives including the New Discoveries Auditions for Young Artists, and the OCS Professional Chorister and Choral Bursary programmes. The choir ardently supports the development of Canadian music through its ongoing commitment to Canadian repertoire content and its commissioning programme, which has introduced exciting new Canadian compositions into the choral repertoire. The OCS regularly collaborates with a number of prominent artistic organizations including the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir, the Ottawa Children’s Choir, the Christ Church Cathedral Ottawa Choir of Men and Boys, Seventeen Voyces, the Larkin Singers, and others.
